Christine D. King-Wallen believes that her life’s journey fostered a passion for helping others. So, on September 2nd, 2002, she joined the Kiwanis Club of Fort Montagu, Nassau, The Bahamas. She has served in every leadership role at the club level and in 2007-2008 was the club’s 44th president. Then, in 2013 she became the 52nd Lieutenant Governor of The Bahamas, Division – 22.
Christine’s honors for service and leadership in Kiwanis are numerous, with her extraordinary leadership, landing her the title, of Distinguished Lieutenant Governor of Excellence. Recently, she was bestowed her second Mel Osborne, a Diamond Level One Fellow, for leadership in managing the Kiwanis Foundation of Canada’s largest relief fund, rebuilding the communities in The Bahamas affected by the devastating 2019 hurricane Dorian.
A champion for the well-being of children, she was at the forefront of many leadership training, projects, new club building, coaching, mentoring, and all aspects of developing the Kiwanis organization. Community service, giving, and uplifting others are more than talents of hers, they are her passion and the very essence of her existence.
Christine has offered herself to be the next Vice Governor of Eastern Canada and The Caribbean District of Kiwanis International. She values TIME; Time to live, celebrate, share, laugh, give, and change. She lives on the belief of Mother Theresa that God has not called her to be successful but to be faithful. So, She will forever be faithful in small things, for in them, her strength is fortified.
Christine is the eldest of four siblings and is married to DLG Gary Wallen from The Kiwanis Club of St. Mary, Division 24, Jamaica. She is currently the Executive Manager of The Paint Place, Bahamas, where she has proven leadership over three (3) retail locations and more than forty employees.
